Takes Part in National Celebration; Hosts Special Luncheon:
Community Agencies Working Together for Seniors
(Medford, Oregon) May 21, 2009 – On Thursday, May 28, 2009, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Community Housing by Pacific Retirement Services, Inc. (PRS), is sponsoring a private barbecue luncheon with local agencies that provide services for seniors, as part of a larger national celebration organized by the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA). Come any time during the event to Community Housing by PRS at Quail Ridge Retirement Community, an affordable senior retirement community, 1055 Ellendale Drive, Medford, OR 97504; 541-857-7887.
Across the country, from May 25 to 29, AAHSA not-for-profit members are opening their doors and hosting events to celebrate and honor the seniors they serve in AAHSA’s 2nd Annual Homecoming Week celebration: “Leading in Quality, Changing Lives.”
Activities:
- Barbecue luncheon
- Booths offering resources for seniors
- Art exhibits by PRS senior residents
- Media access to experts in the affordable housing and CCRC industries
- Residents from Community Housing’s affordable senior housing communities in Ashland, Medford, Central Point, Grants Pass, and Eagle Point
- Staff from national senior housing and health care leader PRS and Rogue Valley Manor, a PRS Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Medford
- Guests from local municipalities
- Several community service providers
“We are pleased with all the donations that local vendors and participants are providing for the BBQ,” said EJ McManus, Housing Development Director. “It’s refreshing to see that people are eager to get involved and contribute to community events, even in tough economic times.”
The Community Housing division develops and operates 25 affordable housing communities in Oregon, California and Texas, with nine of these in Southern Oregon.

We encourage community members to stop by any of our affordable housing communities and discover what we are doing to provide quality homes for our residents.”
